In the near future, we will start seeing a set of proposals for architecture changes between 1.3 and 2.0. These will be discussed and firmed up on the lists first, and then posted here after general consensus emerges.

LedgerSMB 2.0 is likely to be very different from 1.x. We plan to keep some of the decisions made in 1.3 but will move away from the current monolithic model.
